Match Preview: VCF Mestalla vs Atletico Levante
Valencia CF Mestalla will play their final home game of 2020 against their crosstown opposition Atletico Levante UD on matchday 7 of group III B of Segunda B at 4.30 pm kick-off time at the Antonio Puchades at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna.
VCF Mestalla will be looking to end this unusual year on a positive note by picking up their maiden win of the season in the Valencia derby with one fixture left to play away at La Nucia ahead of the Christmas break.
Valencia CF Mestalla have collected 4 draws and two losses from six fixtures. Óscar Fernández’s side lie ninth on four points. As for their cross-town opposition Atlético Levante, they are coming into the Valencia derby off the back of their first win of the season Atzeneta after two draws and three losses.
Valencia CF Mestalla striker Stephane Emaná and VCF Mestalla head coach Óscar Fernández previewed the Valencia derby:
Stephane Emaná:
It’s an important game in which we really want to continue doing things well, as we have been -despite not getting the results that we want. We are really eager to pick up the three points.
"We hope to provide the same good performance that we have had since Matchday 1, continue to progress with the good things we do, and take the three points, which is the most important thing."
"They come into this game off a win. They have also been in a rather difficult situation. They play very good football and push hard. Despite being a second team, they don't collapse, as we've seen from other second teams in the division. We expect that they will make things difficult for us, but we are preparing to be able to cope with that and take the game into our terrain."
Óscar Fernández:
“We’ve been working on the positive things we did at Villarreal during the week and now we must build on the thing we’ve always done right which is what is surely going to help us grow to try to take all three points against Atletico Levante”.
